Durham Regional Police are investigating a homicide in Beaverton late Sunday night.
Police received information that a male had been dropped off at a local hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds. He was subsequently pronounced dead, investigators said.
They later discovered that the male was shot in the area of Mara Road and Simcoe Street in Beaverton prior to arriving at the hospital at around 11 p.m.
The police service’s forensic identification unit responded to the scene and the homicide unit is now in charge of the investigation.
