    For Remembrance Day we had a charity box selling poppies at the bar. A regular walks in, sees it, and says “I’m surprised you’re allowed to display them any more!”

    I ask him what on earth he’s going on about, and he said “they banned the parade in Liverpool didn’t they!”

    I looked it up right in front of him. One single branch of the British Legion on Liverpool cancelled their parade because they couldn’t pay for the insurance. 

    Also, if he looked up from GB news he’d have seen that the street the pub is on is *littered* with poppies as far as the eye can see, on every lamppost, every wall. 

    It must be exhausting inventing stuff to be angry at and immediately getting angry at it.

  10. It’s more complicated than that but essentially yes that is what they do. It’s more they’re disenfranchised and othered by the upper classes but due to a multitude of reasons they become manipulated by the very class that has their boots on their necks. They don’t know where to direct their anger because they’re not informed of these oppressive structures. so, they direct it at the people they’re told to direct it at.
