Hapoel earns revenge with 85-80 win in Israeli Championship

After Maccabi won the first Tel Aviv derby of the season, Hapoel got its revenge in the Israeli championship.
Dimitris Itoudis’ side secured an 85-80 victory at Menora Mivtachim Arena, with Johnathan Motley leading the way.
The American center finished with 20 points and six rebounds, posting a team-high PIR of 25. Antonio Blakeney added 19 points, Elijah Bryant 16, and Tyler Ennis contributed 15 for Hapoel. Vasilije Micic didn’t play for Hapoel.
For Maccabi, Roman Sorkin starred with 26 points and four rebounds, while Tamir Blatt added 14 points and Marcio Santos 10. Lonnie Walker wasn’t part of Oded Kattash’s team tonight.
Hapoel remains at the top of the standings with a perfect 5-0 record, while Maccabi suffered its first domestic loss of the 2025/26 season, dropping to 5-1.
