Manatee County, Fla. (WWSB) – Community members are working together to help support migrant families.
Recently, the Migrant Tea was held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton for the underserved.
The annual event is organized by Church Women United of Manatee County.
This is a group of women from different churches in the area.
They work together and donate essential items like clothes, shoes, diapers, and school supplies to support the Manatee County School District’s migrant students and their families. They have been doing this for numerous years.
The items were donated to Migrant Education Program and Just For Girls.
Members say they do this because of the challenges migrant families face, such as poverty, frequent relocation and more.
They hope these resources help students succeed in their education.
