The Irish deputy prime minister did this too.
He was a former hospital doctor, said he was going to devote as much of his free time as possible providing unpaid care to the sick…
He turned up at a hospital for one day, got a few pictures taken, a few videos for the tv, then never set foot there again.
Context: there is a general “mobilization” of health workers to Covid-19 units. He, as a trained physician, is leading by example.

That kind of shit would get my vote if its not just a PR stunt. Soft spot for generals on the battlefield types.
Ljubljana is one of the coolest little cities I have visited. I think Slovenia has a lot going for it and I can’t wait to get back.
It seems he is one who has knowledge in the field he is working.
For Germany, the acting health minister has some entry level education in finance.
He manged to burn billions on shady deals and ones putting the tax payer in very bad contracts. (Like, “deliver whatever you can, we pay what you ask for.”)
This is why I think the British Govt sucks. They ‘shuffle’ people and we end up with people doing jobs they have very little interest or knowledge in. Or at least that’s what it seems like to this ‘regular Joe’
Meanwhile, in Romania: “waaaah they’re making us wear masks, take the poison shots and we’re playing build-a-government”
Meanwhile in Germany: … That’s right: nothing. Our health minister is doing nothing. His professional background even has nothing to do with health whatsoever.
