  2. Another daily fail article to boost reform! Yes they are housed in hotels and other places but they get £45 which is significantly less than Uni Credit and the rest they can claim.

    We can’t put them in HMO houses.

    We can’t build prisons for them (ridiculously disproportionate to the threat and would cost tens of billions per year)

    We are putting them in old barracks (but this is still far more expensive than budget hotels).

  9. If you’re unhappy with the current system then your problem is with those in power. Asylum seekers don’t decide what they get and what you don’t. They’re people fleeing war and conflict and all sorts of awful things. They absolutely should get free phones, uniforms and houses in my opinion. I also believe that people on UC should also get those things. It doesn’t have to be either or. The government are prioritising the wealthy and powerful and pitting the rest of us against each other so we don’t challenge them. “It’s not *our* fault things are bad, it’s them bloody foreigners.” Don’t fall for it. Asylum seekers are just people like the rest of us trying to survive and live their lives.

  11. I live here. 6 out of 7 children here live below the poverty line. 

    We get called racists and fascists because our town centre is now Romanian and Kurdish and we’re all broke and renters. 

    Gotta love the how the left has abandoned their own working class in favour of this. 

    Our town literally did better when it was isolated from the world. 

  12. I’m sure we’re ripe for one of those life-swap programmes. I”m also fairly sure they won’t like it living as an asylum seeker. Also I’m pretty sure they will find out that what they are getting on Universal Credit is far more than what they are told asylum seekers get.
