A representative for Catherine told The Royalist on Monday that they had not complained about the usage..
The Kate apology suggested complaints had come from members of the public, who were finely attuned to the intricacies of royal nomenclature conventions.
The apology read, “We received complaints from people unhappy that we didn’t use the Princess of Wales’s correct title during our coverage of Armistice Day.”
The BBC went on, “During our coverage of memorials to commemorate Armistice Day, we mistakenly referred to Catherine, Princess of Wales, as Kate Middleton. These were errors during hours of live broadcasting for which we apologize. Throughout our Armistice Day coverage more broadly, we referred to Catherine by her correct title.”

Do they expect us to believe that if Kate has an issue she dials up the press herself. Plausible deniability has been a factor of this family for centuries.
Her staff can make a direct request or her “friends” can pass on the info to the press. But it would never be Kate getting her hands dirty
Before joining this sub, I used to think nothing much happens in royals life. It seems that I was wrong.
I believe them. You just have to login to Twitter to see how absolutely obsessed with titles the fanbase for Wales and Sussex are. Catherine has been referred by her maiden name numerous times. I don’t see why she would be particularly mad about this one
Who said it did come from her? I’m confused.
Complaining to the BBC is a national pastime. There’s even a program on the BBC devoted to complaints to the BBC.
She doesn’t care what you call her. Much too magnamius of spirit to worry about trivialities.

I remember listening to Tina Brown during an event once where she said, it’s a non story if the palace says nothing…it’s a story if they say something. I wasn’t thinking it came from her, but this makes me think so.
That family is ridiculous.
I don’t think the family cares about that sort of thing, that’s definitely something a random person would write in about though lol

I’m American and I HATE HATE HATE seeing her name listed as “Kate Middleton”. Why the media insists on calling her that is perplexing.
I don’t see “Camilla Parker-Bowles” anymore or even “Megan Markle”.
