Gov. Phil Scott’s administration has signed leases for an additional 22,000 square feet of privately owned office space in Waterbury as it prepares for the governor’s controversial return to office mandate to take effect starting Dec. 1.
The state inked three agreements Monday for offices on Pilgrim Park Road, which is near the southern end of downtown Waterbury. The buildings are a short distance from the Waterbury State Office Complex, which sits on the other side of South Main Street.
Monday’s leases include about 4,260 square feet on the first floor of 5 Pilgrim Park Road, 12,000 square feet on the second floor of 5 Pilgrim Park Road and 5,400 square feet on the second floor of 93 Pilgrim Park Road, according to the agreements, which were provided to VTDigger. All three office spaces are for the Vermont Agency of Human Services, according to the leases.
The agreements take effect Dec. 1 and run through November 2030. The state is set to pay about $430,000 for all three office spaces over its first year renting them.
