  14. Back in the old days of landlines, spotlights were used to draw in bored people willing to travel a bit. Relatively low cost to attract locals, not complicated either. Circuses used them the most, which is why they worked; you hoped to find a circus and it would end up being a fucking car dealership.

    Lasers are cooler.

  29. Was there, at Islington. There was a bunch of police that turned up and they had them shut down. The lights guy was ranting on the phone to his manager.

    If I was out in London tonight and I saw that I would have made a pilgrimage to go find the source of the light and I would have had a fantastic time. Y’all are just lacking in whimsy.
