You guys faced so much atrocities and pain historically, and yet now as a nation you are peaceful and thriving, that is something i as an Indian can relate to and respect very much.
It is sad that this important information has not been added to the Wikipedia page for the Maharaja.
I have found numerous articles on this, from India and Poland, and even Canada. Here is one.
Edit: Someone pointed out that the information on polish children at the Maharaja’s palace is indeed present in Wikipedia, you just have to find the right Maharaja!
respect
Tbh I never heard of him
Based, and HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? Pilled
The school I went to (in Poland) was named after him!
The feeling is mutual. My wife is deeply enamored with *Bharat* – we were there in the past and the place is breathtakingly amazing. Not talking it from the perspective of a tourist who lived in 5+ star hotels only and didn’t see a thing beyond luxurious rooms.
tl;dr: it’s like an entirely different world.
As a side note: [there’s the movie feat Sanjay Dutt depicting the MahaRaja in talking](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8312282/). Dutt had his ups and downs, been playing in good and bad movies, but I’m expecting this one to be very good.
धन्यवाद, मेरा दोस्त, greetings from Poland
This is awesome.
I did not know that!
Does anyone know where is the street named after him? Also, just a frikkin street? This man needs a monument!
This man is what the internet would call a ‘gigachad.’
Gigachad
Things like this aren’t in the history books. Thank you for telling me that, and I’d like to give you a late thank you. Gigachad Maharaja right there
This story is so wholesome. Love it
There is also a school named after him
I never heard about this story until recently. What an amazing and compassionate man ! Such a wonderful story!
I love the Indian brother. But did you know what did the Indian say to the computer? – My clock is Microsoft – 🙂
Respect!
If only more people who are wealthy today would follow his example.
He has a square dedicated to him in Warsaw. Since people have problems with remembering his name, he is know as a good maharaja. The square is u official known a The Good Maharaja Square.

Many brave and compassionate Asians did their part in saving Jews and others from Nazi Germany, like [Chiune Sugihara](https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2021/01/27/chiune-sugihara-jews-holocaust-japanese-schindler/).
