This basically confirms what NATO advocates have been saying in Finland for years; that Russia already treats Finland and Sweden as part of the Western bloc in their risk assessments.
Countries like Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia strengthening ties with the West is a sore spot to Putin though, since he believes that those countries “belong” to Russia, at least in some capacity.

They invaded Ukraine because of NATO trying to encircle Russia. Now, Finland and Sweden joining NATO is not a big of a deal. This only proves the invasion was a land grab.
