Again with this statistic, high divorce rate doesn’t mean people are less happy. It means people can get out from unhappy relationships and not being judge by the society nor having a financial burden.
Currently going throguh divorce atm. Finnish wife walked out.
Speak with the divorcees in the country. They all recommend not doing it.
Long term defacto relationships are the safer bet imho.
Yep i see cause and effect.
Who knew sticking with an unhappy marriage doesn’t actually make the partners or their kids happy in the long run?
I know I didn’t like listening to my mom and step dad argue in the next room over for what, five years. Add five more to that until I’d been old enough to move out, I don’t think that would have improve my outcome.
Only people from the stone ages think marriage and/or divorce is related to happiness.
Better divorce amicably than staying in a miserable marriage, harboring resentment and wasting precious years of your life.
Worst popping out kids with some dimwitted parochial hope it will fix a damn marriage.
The country is happy, but what about its people?
Its consumables when its nor good get rid of it.
We live only once ofc you leave from a bad relationship, but i personally won’t ever get married to begin with.
Our kids know we love them and each other even without getting married.
Don’t stay in a bad relationship marriage, it’s 2025 you won’t be judged.
It is not about how happy an individual is, but about which conditions leading to happiness are met.
Since when has the divorce rate been a measurement of happiness? In the USA, that *might* work. Here, it doesn’t work.
There are a lot more reasons for divorce than an unhappy couple, such as noncommon debt. In that case, if a spouse dies, the remaining half will have to pay the debt the dead half had. Divorced couples do not have this problem. And divorce does not automatically mean that the other one has to move out.
Females are literally being treated as social slaves and as reproductive asset in most south asian countries.
Infact child abuse too is normalised there.
So never idealise their views and as they preaching family dominating socialistic terrorism.
Why the hell would there be any kind of correlation to begin with? We don’t even know what happiness really means. These are just vague words with some “universally understood” emotional undertones. Even studies about happiness are all horse shit because you won’t have 2 people sitting in a room that have the same definition of it.
Don’t even get me started on marriage. It’s a religious construct. In modern times its a legally binding contract. That’s all.
I’ve been in a relationship for more than 5 years. Zero intent on marrying. It’s very stable and there’s a high level of trust. You’re gonna tell me a newlywed couple of 2 years is automatically happier than us? I’ll give them a shout if they make it to year 4.
People go about life like it’s a video game and marriage is just one of the big achievements.
I, who have never had any kind of relationship, live happily.
People usually stay married for financial security or just put of loneliness. high divorce rate means people don’t have those issues
Dammit, I thought I blocked this spammer.
Not many people get married anyways today even if they had kids
Yeah, it’s ok to get from abusive relationships but I have a counter offer. Have you tried talking to your spouse about the problems instead of getting a divorce?
Don’t get married in the first place. You can still spend your life with some one.
