WANA (Nov 21) – Iran’s president strongly criticized what he described as the West’s “double standards” on human rights, stating that Western claims about defending human rights are nothing more than “nonsense.”
He noted that during Israel’s recent attack on Iran, some Iranian individuals appearing on foreign media openly supported the strike — a reaction he described as “a clear act of shamelessness.” The president asked, “If you have an issue with me, why do you support a regime that shows no sign of humanity?”
Referring to actions by Israel, including the bombing of medical facilities, he added: “Where in the principles of human rights is it written that a regime can bomb a hospital with all its patients inside?”
He continued: “When children are left to starve and die in famine, is that the democracy and human rights the West claims to champion?”
These remarks reflect the Iranian president’s sharp criticism of Western positions and the support shown by some individuals for Israel’s actions.
