  1. Even if true, it would be the most out of touch thing to say ever in a country where sunlight is hard to come by and lots of sun means you’ve been on holiday. Like if someone complimented your weight loss and you said ‘thanks, I used to be heavier but the food our private chef makes is so healthy’.

  2. I mean, I’ve been in chemo since August and I now know what wigs look like and….that’s a wig.

  3. Is it that hard for her to be human, like all the rest of us who wear wigs because we need to? Or we want a change? Or for fun?

She *was* once a commoner just like everyone else.

  4. she doesnt have to admit to the wig but why can’t she just say she dyed it?! does she think we’re idiots lol

  5. “oh my personal stylist hasn’t a clue what they are doing and cannot seem to find anything flattering on me”- what she actually means.

  6. As a fellow young cancer patient it’s disappointing to see this considering hair loss is one of the hardest parts of treatment for women. That’s a 15k+ wig. One statement could probably fundraise hundreds of these wigs for other women. The wig I was going to get was about 8k. They are unobtainable for most women. If she cold capped, it’s not covered by most insurance in the United States. I’m not sure of the cost in the UK but one statement could but them more. Hair loss with cancer is so sensitive already. This is just disappointing

  7. Me, aged 14 and brassy as fuck, saying this exact same thing while my parents’ peroxide bottles happened to be mysteriously disappearing at an alarming rate…

  8. My hair went blonde-ish from a European summer once .. I didn’t colour it .. but it was definitely blonde when I was coming home

  9. Why in the world is she lying? Just say she’s trying something new. That’s such a random lie to tell.

  10. I want to be positive and believe that she said it as a joke. If so, that’s hella funny.

  11. Why is she saying that? Does it not occur to her that this will sound ridiculous?

They are just so out of touch.

  12. This reminds of the time she had the palace say she had brain surgery as a kid when they caught her hair track visible. It was clearly a track 😭

  13. I dunno why she’s lying.

Just admit “yeah I dyed it”. Or yeah it’s a wig.

  14. That color ages her terribly, and she already looks 15 years older than her actual age.

  15. So, for the first time in her 44 years, the sun turned her hair blond. O…K

  16. Me searching the Internet to see how much sun can lighten hair. I’ll just save money by using the sun instead of going to the salon

  17. There’s nothing wrong with being concerned about image and doing everything one can to maintain it. The problem comes when her appearance doesn’t change post-cancer treatment and *there’s no acknowledgement that that’s not typical.* Obviously her wealth and position allows her the ability to keep her hair looking the same as before. It’s not a sin. Just be honest about it.

  18. Yeah, I don’t believe that. Lol.

She would have come off as more relatable if she just said, she wanted to experiment with her hair after her illness

  19. I’m not sure what the purpose of the complete and obvious lie is.

Even if she didn’t want people to know she’s wearing a wig (and why not? Several celebrities own the fact they wear wigs and it’s fine) she could at least say she’s decided to change up her color a bit.

But obvious lie is obvious. Ma’am, that is not the work of the sun unless you’ve spend the last 6 months on a roofing crew in Arizona, working 14 hour days.

  20. Who gets to tell Kate that she isn’t a Disney Princess but a mere mortal?

  21. Not their business, just say it is gorgeous and move on.

  22. I am going to guess that her grey hair is coming in and the roots show less on lighter hair than on dark hair where the contrast is more obvious. In any case, she deserves to do as she pleases, as for too many reasons I would not want to be her.🙁
