Basically the Lotus spread is just short term spiky sugar. No protein (building blocks), no fats (long term energy), and no fiber (what makes you feel full and allows for one-wipe-only).
Peanut button on the other hand has low carb, so your blood sugar won’t spike. It has a good amount of fat for long term energy. Protein to build your muscles and fibers to keep you full for longer and allow for a healthy bowel movement.
Now you might say: oh, I don’t work out, I don’t need the protein. Well guess what? That sugar in the Lotus will make your blood sugar spike and then crash. You’ll be hungry again.
You’ll eat too much and slowly gain weight.
Seriously, this stuff, just like Nutella, really shouldn’t be eaten at all.

Van de Lidl en dan het liefst zonder brokjes, maar dat is ieder zijn eigen preference.
You guys have brokskes? I thought it was a Dutch exclusive…
My partner wants some.
Without … because a slice without nutella is a slice wasted
And i need to get my non-nutella quota each day
Without biscoff
I’d rather eat the cheap imitation than something called Biscoff.
Without for me please. I tried with brokskes a couple of times but then it feels like you’re eating sand.
Neither can compare to dipping the cookies in coffee and putting them on your bokes.
Am I the only one who finds with like 10 times better hehe
I need that crunch.
Give mee brokskes 🤤
LETUS surprise you haha.
Speculoospasta with brokskes, peanut butter without.
Wait there is a ‘light’ version of speculaaspasta?
I am more of with crunchy but sometimes I enjoy a without for a week or two
The broskes one breaks apart the bread too easily. Unacceptable.
No brokskes for me.
Chad Letus Biscuit vs Virgin Lotus Biscoff.
Neither. Just make it yourself like in the gold old days.
Biscotte moetik ni van emme
Met brokskes!
I will never accept ‘Biscoff’, this is Spéculos or Speculaas but NEVER biscoff
Depends on the usage
I never remember which one my so likes the most so I buy both. She’d eventually eat both anyway, so then I’m none the wiser.
But at least I don’t have to make such an important decision.
Zelf doppen verdomme.
Zonder brol
The light version only has 49900 calories per loaf instead of 50000.
Can we call out on the fact that this really isn’t the kind of stuff you should be eating? It’s just fat and sugar with barely any protein or fiber.
If we look at fat, carbs, protein and fibers, which keep you full for longer (all per 100g):
For this spread (https://www.lotusbakeries.be/nl/producten/lotus-speculoospasta):
* Fat: 38.10g
* Carbs: 57.0g
* Protein: 2.9g
* Fibers: 0.80g
Take a good peanut butter, i.e. just peanuts, the stir kind, (e.g. https://www.ah.be/producten/product/wi413610/ah-biologisch-100-pindakaas-naturel):
* Fat: 54.0g
* Carbs: 8.7g
* Protein: 31g
* Fibers: 8.8g
Notice the difference?
