Meghan Markle’s recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar has sparked debate online for various reasons, but it has also highlighted her ultimate power move as she’s attempting to weave herself back into Hollywood, an expert has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex graces the cover of the US magazine’s December 2025 issue.
Meghan sports various outfits but keeps her make-up minimal, showing bare and glowy skin. Meghan debuted the bare-faced look throughout the year, first when she gave a podcast interview to her pal, Jamie Kerm Lima, seemingly wearing no make-up but glowing from within.
The make-up look has become a bit of a signature look for the Duchess, who also wore minimal make-up during her surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
It comes as Meghan was spotted filming a new movie in Los Angeles, eight years after she quit to marry Prince Harry, in what has been largely seen as a comeback to Hollywood.
According to a beauty expert, Meghan’s fresh-faced approach to makeup carries a deeper significance regarding her return to the spotlight.
Laura Porter, Skincare Expert, Facialist, and Founder of FAB Skincare told the Mirror: “Meghan Markle has always leaned toward a very natural, fresh-faced aesthetic, and this reflects a wider movement we’re seeing in beauty towards skin authenticity over heavy glam.
“She’s someone who prioritises skin health, which is why she can confidently go bare-faced at events. When the skin barrier is strong, hydrated, and even in tone, you often don’t need as much makeup to achieve luminosity.”
The expert said that the duchess likely invests in high-quality skincare, which includes “gentle exfoliation, pigment correcting serums like vitamin C, and hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or peptides.”
She added: “Meghan is also known to favour facial massage, which improves circulation and gives that lifted, rested look without make-up.
“Her approach shows that good skincare and well-chosen treatments can do far more for radiance than heavy makeup ever could.”
