Putin is losing this war and he knows it. Economically he’s in the toilet and his troops are ill equipped to continue this fight. This is a last ditch effort to manipulate Trump yet again to believe that Putin is the victim of this war. Trump is so ignorant as to what is really happening here and needs to listen to smart people who know what they’re talking about. Unfortunately, his loyalty is not to what is right and just, but to powerful dictators that he admires and wants to be like. He craves their admiration at the expense of the free world and that is so dangerous to us all.

For the zillionth time, the Russian method of “negotiating” is to start by demanding patently unreasonable, impossible things, then if the opponent makes *any* concessions, do expressive pearl clutching, claim you are being victimized by unreasonable demands, then demand even more than you started with.

If the international community agreed tonite they’d be setting the precedent that it’s ok to take territory by force, we were supposed to have developed beyond that.
The whole point of the UN and the post war settlement was to try and prevent that exact thing.
If we tell Russia, “yeah fine have the land you invaded and conquered by force” what precedent does that set?
Russia needs to be made an example of, not rewarded for what they’ve been doing.
