Some of the phrases in the US’s “peace proposal” for Ukraine appear to have been originally written in Russian.

2. That is because they were prepared by Russia and US, the guardian. It just so happens that when Russia is preparing a document, they prepare it in language they speak (Russian), not in English. Big surprise.

3. This would not surprise me. The current administration is as lazy as they are incompetent, and they are pretty freaking incompetent. But Russia, while hobbled, is far from being out of options and is certainly not afraid to manipulate and self-promote.

4. My understanding is that it’s the Russian bucket list of demands from 2022, plus a full diplomatic reset for Moscow, in return for a 10-year NATO-style security guarantee for the remaining parts of Ukraine.
