Izy is ending service on the 10th of July

  1. Just saw that on their Facebook page. (Didn’t found anything on the news though)

For those who didn’t know, Izy is a low cost train service Brussels / Paris serviced by Thalys who offered train tickets from 10€ for a single way

  2. Really fucking disappointing. We need more low cost HSR options if we’re gonna convince people to transition away from cars. Thayls is insanely expensive unless you buy the day tickets go on sale (4 months before departure if you didn’t know). And don’t get me started one ICE tickets. Fingers crossed ouigo will expand into Brussels. That’d be a game changer.

  3. I have to go paris in July and booked my Thalys ticket a month ago. Believe it or not the Thalys ticket was just as expensive as the IZY so yeah kinda an epic fail service tbh

  4. That’s a damn tragedy, I do Brussels-Paris at least every month and being able to have cheap tickets without needing to book 2 months in advance was a big deal…

Now we have the choice of the overpriced Thalys or 5 hours of bus, great.
