  1. I share this link because it’s an important documentary not only on the history of Belgium, but also on how the generation experienced it. It’s very emotional, well told, and deserves more attention than a broadcast at 10pm on Canvas.

Edit: the title is “Petites” not “Petite” but I can’t edit it anymore.

  2. That brought back memories. I was 16 when that shit happened. I still remember exactly where I was when the white march happened.

Weird to think that Michel Martin and Michel Lelièvre are already out of jail.

  3. I remember the panic when Dutroux escaped from his prisoner transport the most. Family was so worried and protective as if he could be luring in any bush to strike again, despite the fact the escape just taking place on the other side of the country.

  4. Ah yes, that period where our mother scared the absolute shit out of us and no one was allowed to play outside anymore.

  5. Born in 1990. I remember every parent going apeshit and being paranoid AF. Playing outside was suddenly no longer possible, lol. Going to the store just around the corner? NOPE.

  6. I was a young adult in the 90s and while the sexual aspects are absolutely horrific, what bothered me most was the fact that two of the victims starved while he was in jail on unrelated charges for three months.

All Martin had to do is throw them some food and water. Instead she was perfectly OK with letting both die.
