The current War On Cars is a plan to make driving a privilege for the elites, while the *proles* are crammed into dirty, late, overcrowded public transport surrounded by violent drug addicts or panhandling homeless people.
The elephant in the room is when train operating companies don’t put enough carriages on their train. Because of their greed.
It’s like this for a couple of hours a day tbf
>Sir Toby Carvery II
Can’t this country be serious for 5 damn minutes
Can’t have been a weekend journey, that would have been a rail replacement service bus that cba to show. Same price for added hilarity.
Wasn’t privatisation going to make things better?
Funny how that worked out…
It is cheaper for me to get in my car and drive anywhere I want to go – including fuel, wear & tear, insurance, tax, parking, other charges etc.
Not only that, but I get to drive from my door, direct to my destination, in my own time, in comfort, and don’t have to worry about the state of the public transport to my destination once I’ve arrived at the nearest train station.
That looks like one of the new merseytravel trains that articulate where the carriage are coupled together
Honestly, that train doesn’t even look that packed. Everyone has their personal space.
Isn’t this the stages photo where the bloke had his staffers stand around him and take the photo, but actually the train was hardly busy at all? It certainly looks like that photo and the person posting it has his back to the camera and is somewhat distant to the photo taker which… Well isn’t really a natural thing to occur if you just happened to get on a train and it was busy.
How do you get 2 hours of travel for £25? That’s the cheapest train in the U.K.
…Then the toilet door opens and everyone covers their noses
Everyone complains about how bad British trains and British train infrastructure is, believe it or not, it’s much cheaper and much better than anywhere on the island of Ireland. I actually find trains to be way better in England,Scotland, and Wales and much cheaper too. I’m aware a lot of you may be astonished by that fact, but it’s true.
Toby Carvery is a real person? Are carvery’s named after someone’s surname?
I’m happy to pay more for a premium service. I don’t mind receiving a lesser standard service for a lesser price. I will not pay more for a lesser standard service
‘Come on guys! We spent an insane amount on a contract with a Chinese company to provide usb a ports! And handwash!’
Not to mention more expensive and you still need to get from home to train and train to destination. For me just getting to the train would be an extra 30 mins and £3.50.
Trains only work if you have rapid and frequent last mile transportation, ie London.
