The Egyptian Liquefied Natural Gas (ELNG) celebrated surpassing 17 million safe working hours without lost-time injuries as it held its annual Safety Day on November 20 at its headquarters in Idku. The event, which focused on boosting a safe work culture among its employees, was inaugurated by Yassin Mohamed, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) and supervisor of Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Energy Efficiency, and Climate.

The day was held under the theme “Human Performance Principles.” This topic emphasized core safety concepts that guide the company’s operational approach. Yassin Mohamed affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing safety awareness initiatives as a non-negotiable priority. He stated that this commitment falls within the safety work pillar of the Ministry’s strategy, and he praised ELNG’s dedication to raising employee awareness and applying safety and environmental protection requirements, as noted in a statement by MoPMR.

A statement by ELNG confirmed that the annual Safety Day reaffirms its commitment to integrating safety into the work culture. The event included workshops and interactive activities, utilizing videos to practically demonstrate safe behaviors and reinforce safety principles across the work sites.

Other attendees at the event included Mohamed Elbnhnasy, Chairman of ELNG, Ashraf Ramadan, Assistant Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) for Safety and Environment, and representatives from partner companies, namely Shell Egypt and Petronas Egypt.
