Details:
“Small Works Holiday Show” – Core Members
Core Art Space is having a Member Show of Small Works. It’s like a Party for the Holidays. Core invites everyone to grab a cookie, join the party atmosphere, and check out new works, small works and oversized small works (OK, there is some fudging going on about the actual sizes, but rest assured that the caliber of the art is huge.)
Prints and paintings and photos and ceramics and mixed media and a few surprises, something that will make the perfect gift and maybe something for yourself.
The Core Annex will feature
“Sentience- an examination of life” – Elijah Kane
Elija Kane breathes life into a kaleidoscope of forms and textures. Her work is a conversation with nature, a reverence for the human form, and a dialogue with the mythic and the mundane. Guided by the rhythms of the world around her, her love of all animals, and the ever-evolving state of society, Elija’s art is a testament to the beauty, disorder and suffering of existence.
Elija’s commitment to sustainability is woven in the very fabric of her creative process. She embraces second-hand and upcycled materials, finding stories in discarded items and giving them new purpose. Her work is not merely an artistic expression but an ecological statement, a gentle protest against waste and celebration of renewal. Her mediums are as varied as her inspirations. From the fluid strokes of paint that capture the ephemeral beauty of nature and the human form, to the intricate stitches of fabric, to the clay from our earth. Each piece is a tapestry of emotion, history, and a vision for a more mindful and compassionate future.
Elija Kane’s art invites you to pause, reflect, and question. With a heartfelt reminder of our collective responsibility to honor Mother Earth, and our sentient non-human friends we share this home with. This is a plead to open perceptions and look beyond what has been normalized. To sit in our discomfort when seeing the pain and torture of innocent beings. Is there more we can do? Absolutely. Will you be called to re-examine what sentience means and how we play a role in systemic, unnecessary suffering? That’s up to you.
Core Art Space has memberships available, and the Core Annex is available to rent for non-member shows. Please contact [email protected] for more information about membership or renting the annex.
