  1. *“If you think we were bad, wait until you see what’s coming after us.”*

-Larry Dunne, 1985, on being jailed for drug trafficking as his organisation was being dismantled.

It was true then. It’s true now.

  2. The main reason these individuals that are associated with these gangs are so ‘successful’ is the judical system we have in place. So many are out on bail with 80 odd convictions in tow too. One day I read that a guy got 7 years for tresspassing and in another case the same Judge gave a 2 year suspended sentence for €80,000 worth of heroin caught in a persons possession. There’s no consistency in their sentencing. These Judge’s are far too lenient but I also know that there’s hardly room to facilitate new prisoner’s.

    Edit: New sentence

2nd Edit: I’ve deleted responses below because I’m being downvoted for saying what I saw

  3. The irish gov keep these lads in business, change the drug laws and stop wondering why oh why drug gangs thrive.

  4. I remember reading somewhere that the Gardaí essentially asked US authorities to sanction the Kinahan’s and highlighted the drug connection to boxing as the main argument.

I doubt too many in the Kinahan cartel are happy that DK wanted a public profile through boxing. They could have stuck to the drugs and never faced any US pressure.
