2. Love how the daily mail is quoting him complaining about costly speculation as if that’s Reeve’s fault, rather than fault of media like the DM which has happily joined in on speculating what’s in the budget, presenting it as definately in there, and then proclaiming a u-turn.

3. He’s right. The problem with Labour is they are so out of touch with the business world. Heidi Alexanders uninformed comments on the subject just prove that.

   It’s common bloody sense, businesses can’t plan when we’ve got a fiscal event every six months, with a couple of month of speculation leading g up to it.

   It used to be the case that if a budget was leaked the chancellor resigned. Now it’s “the pre-budget process”. Leak it, gauge reaction then either keep it or drop it and say it was unsubstantiated leak.

4. I have never seen in my 6 decades such a disastrously managed budget and we haven’t actually had the bloody thing yet. 

5. She should never have delayed the budget this long. Also anyone who thinks they haven’t leaked half the stuff to gauge reaction doesn’t know how politics works.

   That aside the business I work for has been raising investment for various things and it’s been painful. Uncertainty in government is one of things mentioned often. High interest rates (by recent standards), lack of clarity in direction and now all the leadership speculation is causing a lot of investment to wait. We have two potential investors waiting for May before they consider the UK to see if the Labour left stage a coup on Starmer following the likely bloodbath in the elections.

   Anyone who thinks uncertainty doesn’t harm investment has never tried working with investors.

6. Running a small business in the UK is like voluntarily flopping your balls onto a table and just letting someone repeatedly beat them with a tenderiser.

8. I can safely say, as someone who would sooner fight an angry rhino than vote Tory, Rachel Reeves is the least suitable person to be British chancellor in at least a hundred years.

13. This same guy also has no solutions. I’ve seen his interviews. Of what’s going wrong. He waffles. Vaguely thinks about cutting spending and mentions how that would slow the economy even more
