when we have some home grown big tech we can think about actually regulating it sensibly instead of the current insane law printer approach that gave us cookie banners, gdpr that no one follows properly, and is trying to ban encryption every 6 months. or better yet just keep the government out of the internet
This is a good thing.
If we want to be competitive, we have to make it so that a startup can bring a product to market without a law department and a few million euros to abide by all our many many norms.
What do you think happens to your data when it goes overseas where they don’t have these laws and are actually able to make money with data? I am sure it would fare better if it stayed in the EU under a slightly less strict GDPR.
