After the local selection process conducted by PBS and the Malta Council for the Arts, Beppe was selected out of thousands of international and Italian applicants to perform at the 68th edition of the festival. He got through three audition phases.
In the first audition phase, 10 Maltese children were chosen to audition in Sicilì, Salerno, Italy following a call for interest issued last April. From Sicilì, three singers proceeded to Bologna for another audition stage.
