20% of Kerry beaches from 11am to 7pm June 1st to September 15th.
Not weighing in on it because ei don’t have a dog or have any problem with dogs on the beach.
Quite funny the councilor claiming it was just 2% of the “coastline ” such a blatant misrepresentation of it
Only issue I have with these bans is that there are no reciprocal times where these public amenities are dedicated to those who want to excercise their horses and dogs in what is a very enjoyable and healthy manner for them. We have the run of everywhere, the least we can do is share it occasionally.
EDIT: Lol – are there really a lot of you that hate horses and/or dogs?
> However a small number agreed with the ban on the blue flag part of the beach and said it should be extended all year round .
These are the people who live sad and miserable lives without any animal friends to call their own
Killjoys
This isn’t new. Here’s an article from Jan with the exact same picture stating that An Taisce says that “Blue Flag beaches must be kept dog free.”
Enforcement of dog and domestic animal regulation is a requirement of Blue Flag status. The article is just rage bait.
I grew up with dogs and never had a problem with them until lockdown. Now every dickhead has them and they’ve become an absolute nuisance.
Ahhh yeah go bán the fishes from the that part of the sea while your at it.
This is extremely common during lifeguard season on the beaches. We always had signs to put up in co. Clare. All the lifeguarded beaches ban dogs during the same hours.
Yet more reason to visit Donegal, and not Kerry 👍🏻
