This is so true. Then there’s teacher training, teacher meeting, moved public holiday as it feel on a weekend, easter/christmas/mid-term holidays….and the list goes on
As an educator I will only say this because of the relative anonymity reddit affords me… Except for the summer holidays I would rather have less school holidays throughout the rest of the year than more. I would also like to have all my lessons be longer by like ten minutes. I want more contact hours with my students not less. And with flexible work hours this would be possible without requiring an increase in the number of hours I spend at school. For full disclosure I typically teach at full load with the load units being actual lessons. Educators will understand what I mean.
