Trade and investment growth

Al Zeyoudi highlighted the significant growth in non-oil trade, which reached USD$103 million in 2024, and USD$66.7 million in the first nine months of 2025. The UAE is Latvia’s top trading partner in the Middle East, accounting for a quarter of Latvia’s trade with the Arab world. The UAE also holds USD$125 million in FDI in Latvia as of mid-2025.

Strengthening cooperation and future initiatives

Valainis emphasised Latvia’s commitment to strengthening relations and expanding cooperation. Both countries agreed to participate in trade fairs like Investopia, ADIPEC, and GITEX, and to promote dialogue through conferences and workshops. They also expressed interest in joint efforts in technology, space, healthcare, transport, logistics, and sustainable agriculture.

Future meetings and collaborations

The two nations decided to hold the fourth JEC session in Riga, Latvia, at a future date yet to be confirmed.
