We have so many now

  1. They’re dead handy for giving a portion of something you’ve cooked to someone else, without either party worrying about returning the container.

  2. I think they are great for freezing. Much better than those flimsy ones in dealz. If you have too many post then on a freebie group in your area. I’m sure you’ll find takers

  3. I use one for when I open a packet of sausages ( cos you can’t reseal the pack ) so I throw the pack in one, stick the lid on an into the fridge.

  4. I do use them too for freezing or storing food leftovers. However, they’re not made for that and if something is made to be used once for a short period of time, chances are, chemicals might leak into your food after a while of storing it inside them.

  5. SuperValu Icecream containers are the best, unfortunately they’re changing the packaging, so I’m stocking up on what’s left of their old ones. Does mean I need to eat a lot of icecream.

  6. We’re being overrun with them. My wife insists on putting them in the bottom drawer and there’s so many that sometimes it won’t close. I slam that drawer with all my might hoping to smash one of them, because that’s the only way she’ll let me put it on the recycling!

  7. We’ve massively reduced the amount of cling film or kitchen foil we use because of these lil boxes. They’re great for throwing things into the fridge like half an avocado or food where the packaging gets wrecked once opened. Just throw in the dishwasher when you’re done and recycle when they’ve seen better days.

  8. Just brings back memories of your aul wan going off to a Tupperware club back in the day…..so weird when you considered it.

Then again the postman was popping around quite often too.

  9. I think they’re absolutely disgraceful and should be banned. All that unnecessary plastic. I actually don’t order from places that use them and always go for places with cardboard packaging, you should do the same if it’s an option.

  10. I bought glass lunch boxes a few years ago, whenever I go for a take away I bring them along, they go in the dishwasher after, no cleaning, no wasted plastic, everyone wins

  11. The trick is though that you kinda gotta clean them after use and not let them pile up in a dark corner of your room for weeks and weeks making the right of loosening them to clean them all the more terrifying.. ahem looking at you mirror.

  12. The only frustrating thing is when they decide to change the boxes they use, and suddenly you have two different types of box and lids to match.

  13. I wish i had that problem.

They’ve disappeared from dealz and the local chinese supermarket so I’m running short for meal prep

I still get takeaways but my favorite place to go uses those cardboard taller boxes like from the television and they can#t be reused
