Four people are hurt after crashing into a utility pole on Weaver Dairy Ext. Monday night, knocking out power for nearly 200 Duke Energy customers, according to the Chapel Hill Police Department.

Police said a car hit a utility pole around 10 p.m. Monday on Weaver Dairy Extension between Palafox Drive and Rowe Road. The driver and three passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The crash caused around 175 customers to lose power nearby. Power is expected to be restored around 6:30 a.m. according to the outage map. 

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of crews replacing a power pole and attaching utility lines. Crews shut down Weaver Dairy Extension between Palafox Drive and Rowe Road for several hours to make repairs. The damaged pole appear to be at a curve in the road.

Chapel Hill police said officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
