Retail sales in Poland rose 5.4% year-on-year in October 2025, moderating from a 6.4% gain in September but exceeding market expectations of a 3.7% advance.

Sales slowed for motor vehicles, motorcycles, and parts (15.0% vs 15.6% in September), pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and orthopedic equipment (4.4% vs 5.6%), and food, beverages, and tobacco products (0.2% vs 0.6%).

Sales in newspapers, books, and other specialized stores also improved, rising 0.1% after declining 3.3% in the previous month.

Conversely, stronger growth was observed in solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels (7.1% vs 4.7%), other goods (3.3% vs 2.4%), furniture, radios, TVs, and household appliances (16.1% vs 13.9%), and textiles, clothing, and footwear (20.5% vs 9.0%), reflecting continued consumer demand in these segments.

On a monthly basis, retail activity rose to 6.7% in October, rebounding from 2.7% decline in the previous month.
