China’s toilet revolution: World toilet day aims to promote clean sanitation for all • FRANCE 24

Social media influencer is on the hunt. Not for Beijing’s latest restaurant or a nice selfie spot. She’s looking for the bathroom. So, here there’s a smart management system. It shows there are eight free stalls in the women’s restroom. And there’s also a unisex accessible restroom. I think this restroom is smart, modern looking, and the design has a bit of a tech vibe. But the space inside the stalls feels too small, and there’s no place to put your phone. For the last six months, has documented dozens of restrooms, reviewing the best and worst for others online. This high-tech bathroom is part of Beijing’s so-called toilet revolution. Announced in 2015, the project hopes to improve public sanitation across the country and also includes plans to build new facilities at tourist attractions like these tucked away at the foot of China’s Great Wall. I think that the the place is magical, but that one is so important. Stay here. It’s like don’t break the aesthetic. No. And and and the relax to the place because that one Yeah, of course it’s modern. It’s new and it’s necessary. But not everybody is happy. Despite improvements in Beijing’s historic center, many residents still share public bathrooms, often without soap or water to wash your hands. I hope future toilets will be cleaner and more convenient. Not washing hands after using the toilet is indeed inconvenient. Having a place to wash hands is much more convenient. Basically, the more complete the better. Clean and sanitary with disinfection, ventilation, hand washing. I see they are gradually improving. Some are much better than before. Since its announcement, China has already renovated more than 40 million bathrooms. In Beijing’s historic center, residents hope the toilet revolution can continue.

Today marks World Toilet Day, a day that seeks to inspire actions to tackle what the UN refers to as a global sanitation crisis, with some 3.4 billion people living without safe sanitation. In China this year also marks 10 years since Chinese President Xi Jinping declared a “Chinese Toilet Revolution”, aimed at upgrading the country’s bathrooms and hygiene standards.   5. As indian we be ashamed ..we cnt provide ckean public toilet neither we indian are ready to keep public toilte clean..we need education for children to keep the toilet clean

  10. Her issue is not have a place to put her phone? Yes it should be clean and uave soap. Also toilet paper is only in fancy restaurants it had an option with toilet paper. How about upgrading to a real toilet bowl. And my phone is always in my purse so i would worry about a phone

  18. As much as I love Asia, I HATE, HATE, HATE the floor toilets! My 72-year-old mother had SO MUCH difficulty using them when we travelled to Japan for one month, and she was in beyond excellent shape for her age. It's rather strange coming from various cultures whom actually care about their elderly…

  20. China absolutely should have normal sit on manual flush toilets and manual urinals everywhere! This is the Chinese Century so China needs to set a good example for the rest of the world!

  43. China is very advanced in this area. They have very good rest rooms even in areas far from main cities. Also, cleanliness level is very high. Modern sensors are used for water conservation as well.

  50. I can't believe they didn't mention this, but in almost all of them there isn't any toilet paper. You're expected to bring your own. Also, you're supposed to put your used toilet paper in a trash can, not flush it down the pipes.
