  1. I get the feeling that some of these ‘small details’ aren’t really small details, probably like giving up territory russia doesn’t have yet and letting them keep their foothold in other territories.

    “Minor” details that will completely flip the deal on it’s head by denying the key points that Russia thought were a *”good starting point”*.

    There’s only two ways this goes – Trump gets tired of the UA/EU intransigence and yells at Zelensky again, or Zelensky gets in his ear during their upcoming in-person meeting and Trump removes items that Russia needs to make the deal work and then claims they don’t want a deal when they refuse it like they did with the EU changes. I can’t see even a small percentage chance that UA concedes enough at this point for Russia to like the deal.

  4. Smart move made by Ukraine.. Trump is forcing them to accept the deal, and they are proposing some changes just to annoy Putin, and he will 100% not accept any deal that is not based on the terms dictated by him.

    Trump is getting outplayed, and he can’t blame Ukraine for this… well, he will blame Ukraine, but at least he won’t have no proper reasons.

  5. Those “minor details” are NATO membership and possibility of western “stabilization forces” on the territory of Ukraine. Of course it’s a dealbreaker.

  6. US put together some 28 point plan or whatever in no cooperation with Russia in which Europe and Zelensky weren’t really happy with and now they seem happy with it or whatever and now they are surprised that they haven’t heard any word from Russia?…

    And trust, trust is a big issue, Russia doesn’t trust US + their puppets as they shouldn’t and vice versa.

    I suppose this is a start to some peace progress at least.
