The tabloid rags reporting on this is hilarious as expected.
#**WAR ON MOTORISTS!**
Assuming it’s in a 20mph zone around a school, I think this is a better use of speed cameras than on 40/50/motorway speed roads.
I’m completely fine with this TBH. If you don’t want to pay the fine, stick to the limit. If you can’t control your speed without constantly staring at the speedo, should you be driving at all?
Perfect use of average speed cameras too. Stop the whole accelerate/brake/accelerate thing with the older GATSO type.
> Residents told the council they would rather see an average speed system in place than traffic calming measures.
Two thoughts:
1) I wonder how many people who responded and requested the camera who are also on the list of speeding drivers.
2) how do I get one of these installed on my street?
