Following members of the organization “Palestine Action” attack in an Elbit facility in the UK, the British government decided to designate them as a terrorist organization a while ago. A decision that caused a debate inside the UK and in articles shared right here in this forum.
Now, a new video publicly released shows footage of a member assaulting a UK cop, fracturing her spine with a sledgehammer during their attack.
Interesting to note, Elbit manufactures plenty of components and equipment used by European militaries. Who might benefit from disrupting their work? In my opinion the answer is obvious, and should be a wake up call for western societies about the forces behind many of such movements.
It’s been equal measure horrifying/entertaining to watch supporters on reddit try and insist that the UK was in the wrong for prosecuting this.
I’m pro-Palestine myself and was against Palestine Action being proscribed as a terrorist group but even so there’s no defending an alleged sledgehammer attack that fractures a cop’s spine.. You can support the cause without condoning violence and I think some of the online takes ignore that distinction entirely..
I do find it amusing that all the useful idiots in the Pro-Palestine camp that do this type of thing always target materiel that is almost exclusively used for the defence of Europe or Ukraine
Like surely there isn’t a hostile foreign actor behind this that wouldn’t strictly benefit from European military production, transport, etc being interrupted lol. But no, weakening European defences will TOTALLY Free Palestine or whatever I’m sure.
Domestic terrorists
Could r/geopolitics explain what this has to do with geopolitics
“don’t these idiots know they’re being used by foreign countries to disrupt Europes self defense, what a bunch of useful idiots.” Meanwhile the article is from the times of Israel and no one thinks for one single second how promotion of stories like these is itself supporting Israel’s efforts and agenda. There are way larger more influential groups that have more to gain from undercutting whole groups like Palestine action using stories like this than Iran would from supposedly funding this organization.
