Wojtek was a Syrian Brown Bear taken in by Polish Army in the spring of 1942. Outside him being morale booster to the company Wojtek became a private in Polish army. For his efforts in the Battle Of Monte Cassino he was promoted to corporal. **Animals in War & Peace Medal of Bravery** institution honors animals that served in the line of duty, I emailed the organizers about Wojtek’s story and was given a green light to nominate him for this award. Please help me nominate Wojtek!!!

  1. He already got a monument at Poland’s most famous party street in Sopot, ul.Boh.Monte Cassino. Of course he deserves more medals! The Russians would already got their asses kicked out of Europe if Corporal Wojtek would be still alive.

  2. Would be cool if BaΕ›ka MurmaΕ„ska, another one of our bear soldiers was nominated too πŸ˜€

  3. Coincidentally listened to a podcast about him today, the host completely butchered the pronunciation but it was still great.
