Greenex Environmental Pvt. Ltd. has signed a strategic international collaboration agreement with Norway-based EPD Global to offer services related to publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
The announcement was made by Joint Managing Directors Sagar Ahiwale and Arati Bhosale-Ahiwale at a media conference on Tuesday after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Håkon Hauan, CEO of The Norwegian EPD Foundation (EPD-Norway).
Under the MoU, Greenex Environmental will assess the environmental impact of products manufactured by Indian businesses, while the Norwegian collaborator will issue an Environmental Product Declaration for each product. EPD certification is required for all manufacturers. Through this exclusive partnership, the two organisations will work together to deliver EPD services to Indian and regional manufacturers.
The collaboration aims to help industries, including MSMEs and large manufacturing sectors, improve sustainability performance, enhance transparency, and meet international market requirements. With EPD Global’s publication authority and Greenex’s technical expertise, manufacturers will gain easier access to support for developing and publishing EPDs.
Greenex Environmental currently has offices in Pune, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Dubai, and plans to open additional offices in major industrial centres across India.
India has been performing strongly in the world market, with MSMEs being the backbone of the country’s exports. There is a rising trend in the world market to give preference to the products that hold EPDs. Indian SMEs will benefit greatly from EPDs for their products as the buyer will prefer to import such products and may offer a higher price, Aarati Bhosale-Ahiwale said.
Sagar Ahiwale said the initiative marks a significant milestone for the sustainability domain in India and beyond. It is expected to create new employment opportunities, strengthen industry competitiveness, and accelerate the adoption of environmentally responsible practices. “The collaboration is a major step forward in helping organisations transition towards low-carbon, globally compliant operations,” he added.
