I understand that people don’t view nuclear power as “green”, considering how Uranium is mined and how waste is handled, but we will absolutely need it to be able to stop relying on dinosaur juice. So this vote is stupid to me, but i also think that as soon as we rid ourselves of fossile fuels, the next step is to scrap conventional nuclear power, replace it by renewables, molten salt reactors, or, if you’ll excuse the dreaming, fusion power.

Why would we pay others to build something we don’t endorse?
That’s what all this is about, Im a nuclear power proponent, but this still makes sense strategically, especially because it has no influence on the ability of other countries to build nuclear reactors.
Germany is working hard to be the most disliked Western European country lol. I assume burning Russian natural gas is more green for them?
They have a perfect right to vote however they want, this is a democracy. It’s not like they are imposing their point of view by veto.

* Reducing agriculture yields, reducing used land areas and fighting farmers and modern industrial agriculture with all kinds of aggressive regulation leading to higher food prices and contributing to starvation in other parts of the world and already some peoples at home
* Preaching energy poverty and increasing prices everywhere while having no large scale implementable solutions how poor and normal peoples can heat in the winter or drive to work and not ruin themselves
* Giving subsidies to rich peoples for expensive green niche solutions only they can afford at cost of general taxpayer and poor peoples
* Opposing technological openness, and an efficiency based process where results have to be measured against expenditure to better deal with climate change
* Preaching hypocritical poverty, using less resources, economic decline and less growth while being the party of rich peoples
While being beloved and the darling of everybody especially the media because never substantially challenged on their major Utopian promises. And treated like they have the modern solutions while their base premises are old disproved “limits of growth” hippie BS from the 1970s.
We are truly ruined I hope GER and Europe wake up when the current course drives us into previously unknown despair.
Which thing has been talked about for the last 30 years when it comes to global warming. All about CO2 emissions. So nuclear energy is CO2 neutral which is the only thing what matters in all global warming. Everything else is political bullshit. We dont need to say green energy but CO2 neutral. Wind and solar are also not green, maybee more than nuclear but not without. Not to mention they are less green in you storage them in battery systems.
