What are these “letter” things you talk about?
In Denmark the industry receives billions in subsidy. As in most countries really. But the wages are sky high in Denmark so without it you really couldn’t deliver mail. You’d have to deliver it to city centers and let people get it themselves.
Wow 3,90€ sounds super expensive. Is there just a single postman on a bike for the whole of Denmark?
American here. I didn’t realize how cheap sending a letter here is. Our postage for a standard letter is 55¢, or .52€. It’s only gone up ~20¢ since I was a child.

In Hungary you send a letter for 0.5€ and that may arrive. Or may not.
