Downsides to Poland

  1. “Weather”. Dude propably doesn’t know what he’s talking about

  2. Tia racism … specifies racism because in my opinion there is no racism in Poland. There is religious fanaticism which results in Islamophobia, but to racism like in America it is light years away.

  3. There are countries much worse on all those criteria’s, like the USA

  4. Racism? Poland is one of Europes least racist nations

  5. I love the weather in Krakow. Hot in the summer, snow in the winter. Hardly any rain. What’s not to like?

  6. Seriously nobody mentioned useless healthcare which we are obligated to pay tones of money for?

  7. If you think Polish weather is bad, come to UK and see how depressing this country is. Polands weather is perfect, we got all the seasons unlike UK.

  8. Tl;dr quite okay country to live in, but could be better

Homophobia, xenophobia, poor work regulations (if you don’t have a standard job contract), catholic church influence, a bit outdated and overcomplicated tax revenue administration (same applies to every other department, however it’s getting better).

Also the mentality of poles is a big downside to me, which can be seen especially on roads (more about it later) or in public places – the attitude of an average Pole towards someone else is not very appealing (don’t get me wrong it’s not a rule for every single person). However in private they are really warm and nice people.

Oh yes, roads. Law is treated here more like a guideline than an actual law and every driver seems to be in rush 24/7. Speeding is tolerated too much. Actually I hate driving here coz I get honked for obeying the law ffs… I’ve seen people road raging, tailgating and even brake checking on a daily basis.
Actually there’s a blog about polish roads and drivers that sums up all the issues I encountered so far:

Public health service is not the very best, although you don’t really need to worry in case of emergency. Private health service is really good though.

Last but not least – pension scheme is quite bad for an average citizen and – in the future – at collapse risk due to demographic issues.

Again don’t get me wrong, Poland is quite good country to live in, but there are still things that need to be done

  9. Poles always say racism and homophobia. Always the ones that never lived abroad 😂
It’s one of the most peaceful ones when it comes to that.

  10. Weather? Nah, sunny in summer, cold in winter. The occasional tornado in fall

  11. Elderly people tend to be xenophobic because of the wwII and overall history of Poland, it kinda fades away with new generations, at least that’s what I observed
