Moldova on November 26 displayed a Russian drone that fell on its soil outside the foreign ministry, while summoning Moscow’s envoy for clarification, in an open criticism of Russia’s war in neighboring Ukraine.

The small former Soviet republic, located between Ukraine and NATO member Romania, has repeatedly seen violations of its airspace by Russia in 2022 and has expelled dozens of Russian diplomats and embassy employees.

And after summoning Oleg Ozerov, the Russian ambassador to Chisinau, on November 26, the Moldovan foreign ministry placed the downed drone in front of its headquarters, foreign media write, according to Telegraph.

Later, the ministry published a video on social media of Ozerov leaving the building and walking past the drone marked with a red “Z”.

As media outlets recall, on November 25, the drone crashed into a house in a village in northeastern Moldova, near the border with Ukraine.

According to the government, six drones in total had violated Moldovan airspace. /Telegraph
