RRF disbursement of €2.1 billion to Greece

The European Commission on Wednesday disbursed a payment of 2.1 billion euros from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) to Greece, following the positive assessment of the 6th payment request for the Facility’s grants, which had been submitted in mid-July.

With the new payment, Greece has now received €23.4 billion from the RRF, an amount corresponding to 65.2% of the total budget of national plan “Greece 2.0.”

The payment request concerned the completion of 39 milestones and targets of the national plan, bringing the number of fulfilled milestones to 178 (48% of all milestones), while the equivalent average rate in the EU stands at 43%.

Minister of State Akis Skertsos said: “Within three years, Greece has managed to absorb €23.4 billion – equivalent to an NSRF program that typically takes nine years – implementing crucial and beneficial reforms and investments with effectiveness, transparency and speed, which improve citizens’ lives.”
