The Slovenian Embassy in Korea, along with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, will hold the international forum Symbiosis with Nature, Growing Together from the 27th to the 28th.
In June last year, the Slovenian Embassy held a ‘Honey Bee Return International Symposium’ to discuss the issue of declining honey bee populations due to climate change and ways to cooperate in sustainable beekeeping. The international forum is a new “honeybee diplomacy” event organized following the cultural and public diplomacy event “Honeymoon Week” held in September this year to mark the third anniversary of the embassy’s opening.

The forum is expected to further expand Slovenia’s long-standing beekeeping tradition and honey bee diplomacy shown at the previous two events.
In particular, it is expected to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of Apotheosis, Apitourism, and sustainable development.

Honeybees are a symbol of green policy, sustainability and communication in Slovenia. Slovenia is a country that played a key role in the UN’s establishment of World Punishment Day.
The forum reflects the two countries’ willingness to cooperate to discover new possibilities for the beekeeping industry and incorporate innovative concepts into traditional industries.
In addition, more than 100 people, including ambassadors from EU and ASEAN countries, international organizations, diplomatic officials in Korea, beekeeping, agriculture, and tourism, will attend to discuss international cooperation tasks such as nature-based healing tourism, climate change response, and green growth strategies.
Participants will visit major healing and wellness tourist destinations in the region, including the Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art, the Wanju Alcohol Theme Museum, and the Andeok Health Healing Experience Village, and see for themselves the potential of Jeonbuk to grow into a base for nature-based healing tourism.
