Latvia has supplied Ukraine with 12,000 drones in 2025 as part of the Drone Capability Coalition and has pledged to allocate an additional €15 million to continue its support next year.

The announcement came during a joint press conference with the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Latvia during the latter’s visit to Kyiv, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

Latvia’s Foreign Minister, Baiba Braže, said Riga would provide further funding in 2026 “to ensure sufficient coalition capacity, introduce the latest scientific and innovative developments on the battlefield, and enable Ukraine to defend itself.”

She also noted that Latvia has allocated an additional €5 million to expand rehabilitation facilities and services for Ukrainian servicemembers treated in Latvia.

The drone initiative is jointly coordinated by Latvia and the United Kingdom. Coalition members include Australia, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, and Sweden.

In March, the coalition committed €20 million toward purchasing tactical reconnaissance drones for Ukraine.

The United Kingdom has already supplied Ukraine with more than 85,000 drones in the first half of 2025 and aims to deliver up to 100,000 by year’s end, backed by a record £350 million (approx. $472 million) investment announced in June.
