It's sad to see how little progress has been made. The same towns keep showing up on the list of most deprived areas of Wales year after year.

Valleys are still fucked, and always will be. There is nothing anyone can do about it at this point.
They’re too far away from major infrastructure – road, mainline rail and sea. Meaningful foreign investment is non-existent and we’ve lost a generation of skill in manufacturing and engineering. It doesn’t matter how much money you throw at it all. EU membership also did fuck all to solve the problem, apart from putting fancy badges on signs next to deserted business parks. Cheers bois.
All any teenager from the Rhondda should be doing is getting their head down, doing well at school, going to Uni and getting the fuck out of there for good.
Sad really, but it is what it is.
Bridgend Town doing its best to get out of this mess but Maesteg and Ogmore Valleys putting in a strong effort again lol
Rhyl being Rhyl as per usual
Unfortunately the “head down, work hard, get out” strategy is still going to have to be the goal for talented kids in a lot of bits of Wales.
Good luck, you are going to need it. (And there doesn’t seem nary a politician who gives the slightest shit either)
Always poor, never bored
