CALGARY (Reuters) -Canada on Thursday agreed to eliminate a federal emissions cap on the oil and gas sector in a memorandum of understanding signed with the oil-rich province of Alberta.
The MoU was signed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith.
They also agreed to strengthen industrial carbon pricing and carbon storage and to drop clean electricity regulation. Both are looking for a private proponent to build a pipeline to the West Coast.
