CALGARY (Reuters) -Canada on ​Thursday agreed to ‌eliminate a federal emissions cap ‌on the oil and gas sector in a memorandum of understanding signed ⁠with ‌the oil-rich province of Alberta.

The MoU ‍was signed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta’​s Premier Danielle ‌Smith.

They also agreed to strengthen industrial carbon pricing and carbon storage and to drop clean electricity ⁠regulation. ​Both are looking ​for a private proponent to build a ‍pipeline ⁠to the West Coast.
