Tatry Mountain Resorts confirmed in a press statement that Stiller spent several days in the region, ahead of a film tentatively planned for 2027. His stay, according to reporting by tvnoviny.sk, was booked under another name, meaning hotel staff initially had no idea they were hosting such a high-profile guest.

Stiller stayed at the historic Kempinski Hotel in Štrbské Pleso and visited some of the area’s most striking viewpoints. He travelled to the Sliezsky dom, walked near Popradské pleso, and took the cable car up to 1,751 metres to survey the panorama from Skalnaté pleso, according to Startitup.sk.

Staff members described Stiller as friendly and approachable; he reportedly signed autographs and posed for photos without hesitation.

What brought Stiller to Slovakia remains unconfirmed. There is speculation that a war film may be in preparation in the Tatras, with Stiller potentially involved, though no official source has yet validated this information.

According to the production company behind the 2027 project, the High Tatras are among the leading candidates for filming, and Stiller’s positive impressions have strengthened Slovakia’s chances of securing the shoot.

Tatry Mountain Resorts said it is ready to support the filmmakers if they choose Slovakia, promising full logistical and technical backing both during preparation and production.
