Leaked Prevent review attacks ‘double standards’ on far right and Islamists | Prevent strategy

  1. >The leaks, from the government-commissioned Prevent review being carried out by Sir William Shawcross, are likely to be deeply controversial. They come days after a mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, where a self-confessed white supremacist shot 11 black and two white victims in what authorities described as a “racially motivated hate crime”.

A “leak” conveniently takes place just after some guy **in another country** goes on a shooting spree. Bore off. Why do we constantly have to take cues from the US?

    >Fahy, **a former chief constable of Greater Manchester police** and head of Prevent **until 2015**, told the Guardian: **“There is a danger of policing thought as opposed to the risk of violence. It is not about ideology** but about the risk someone will cross into violence.

    >[same dude] “We know there has been an increase in far-rightwing extremism in the UK. The worst terrorist attack in Europe was by a rightwing terrorist, Anders Breivik”

Tell that to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing, you tool! The same bombing that took place in your jurisdiction just after you retired. There is a possibility that the person who bombed Manchester Arena became radicalised on your watch and when your force weren’t taking it too seriously, dude (although I’m not 100% so accept I might be wrong).

  2. While yes of course any and all forms of terror need dealing with, that includes right wing and left wing fanaticism.

Islamism has committed more atrocities than all the others put together in the past 20 years so the focus most definitely needs to be on that.
